RENÉ LALIQUE ‘La Renommée d’Orsay’ tester display / 5 perfume bottles, moulded pressed glass.

The five-perfume tester ‘La Renommée d’Orsay’ by René Lalique was created in the 1920s for the Orsay perfume house.A quadrangular body with five juxtaposed bottles in a single piece, bringing together the perfumer’s most famous juices. White pressed moulded glass, satin matte and glossy, with traces of the original patina. The bottle itself is adorned with a sculpture of Renommée (an allegorical figure of glory) and bears witness to Lalique’s refinement in the art of moulded-patinated glass.

It is a luxurious bottle designed with five separate small reservoirs, each intended to contain a different fragrance: ‘Chypre’, ‘Fleur de France’, ‘Le Lys’, ‘Chevalier d’Orsay’, ‘Les Fleurs d’Orsay’, titled on each stopper and numbered from 1 to 5. Each small tester measures approximately 3 cm.

It was used for advertising and sales purposes, as a demonstration display in shops or at exhibitions. With this bottle, customers could test several fragrances at once, without having to handle several separate bottles.
